An Evening of Jazz at Chris' Jazz Café

Listen to some phenomenal Jazz with Faculty Fellows Dr. Christina Frei , Dr. Ricardo Howell and Faculty Director Professor Mona Merling at one of the premier Jazz venues in Philadelphia. Founded in 1989, Chris' Jazz Cafe is the longest continuously operating jazz club in the history of Philadelphia, attracting visitors from more than 160 countries and all 50 states. This go-to jazz destination has hosted some of the most revered names in jazz, both international and national superstars, including the legendary John Coltrain, Count Basie Orchestra, Junior Mance, Kevin Eubanks, and many others.

Come join us for Dr. Frei's signature house event "Food Around the World". The event celebrates the multitude of languages and cultures on campus. You will chat about all things international @Penn, and the event seeks to be a place for you to visit with folks who have traveled a lot or plan to travel in the future. This Sunday, Professor Mona Merling and Dr. Ricardo Howell will join in the event. We are looking forward to celebrating Food Around the World with you.

For Women's History Month, we want to host a screening of women's experiences in the carceral system and have an open discussion about the short documentary.
