Program Communities

Program Communities bring together students and faculty who share a passion for a particular subject. Membership in a PC is completely voluntary and requires a special application process — most often an essay and perhaps House-specific requirements.

Three Main Reasons to Be Part of a Program Community

  • Shared interests, shared leadership, and shared space create a living and learning environment that's unmatched.
  • Most of the Program Communities have sprung out of student-created and directed activities that developed into long-running communities.
  • Program Communities create programming focused specifically on the shared interest of their members, enhancing the enjoyment and the learning opportunities.

Signature Programs

Some programs are centered across the entirety of the College Houses rather than in a specific House, and frequently involve students in many or all of the Houses. These programs are directed by the CHAS leadership team in partnership with members of the faculty:
the CHAS Signature Programs.
