Poetry Reading and Discussion. Sara Gilmore is a recent graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and holds an MFA in comparative literature—literary translation. She teaches poetry at the University of Iowa as one of the 2022–2023 CLAS Visiting Writers and serves as senior literary editor for the Iowa Prison Writing Project. She presently resides in Iowa City with her young son, but lived for seventeen years outside the United States—in that sense, she calls a number of places and identities home. Her work has appeared in Ugly Duckling Presse's Second Factory and Annulet: A Journal of Poetics.
