You'll have a lot going on during your first semester here at Penn: getting used to life at the University, making new friends, and keeping up with classwork. After Winter Break, though, as you start the spring semester, it will be time to think about next year's housing—yes, already!
- If you've been living in a four-year College House for your first year at Penn, you'll have the option to continue living in that House for your second year, or you can choose to apply to live in an upperclass House or one of the other four-year Houses.
- If you've been living in one of the first-year Houses, you'll need to apply to live in either a four-year House or an upperclass House for your sophomore year.
Our four-year Houses offer smaller and often more socially interactive communities to their residents, while the upperclass Houses tend to have more residents and offer a more apartment-like experience to their communities, while still offering plenty of opportunities to interact with neighbors.
