Oct 15 Mask & Wig show: Déjà Groove Did you know that UPenn's Mask and Wig is one of the oldest musical-comedy, student-theatre groups in the country? They have been performing since 1889! Their fall production, Déjà Groove, is a sketch comedy show with musical interludes performed by their band; and it is running next week for 3 days at the super-close to KCECH Iron Gate Theater: "Like your MATH 1400 grade, night has fallen. The Milky Way is out. Mmm… milk. It’s so late that MERT just texted, 'you up?' But for five Lauder roommates, it’s time to jive. After suffering an ungodly stench, they just got blasted into the past! They’re whirring past the nineties, the eighties, and are now… trapped in the seventies?! It’s chill though. They recovered from the freshman flu, they can handle a little Saturday night fever. Will they ever make it back to the future, which means the present? Does America boogie on Funkin’ Donuts? Is the beat drop as fat as that ass? Disco-ver for yourself in Mask and Wig’s 2025 Fall Show: Déjà Groove!". We are going this Wednesday, October 15th at 7:30 pm! We will be leaving from KCECH's reception lobby at 7:15 pm sharp. If you would like to come along, please email Lidia (lleon@upenn.edu) and bring $5 to the House Office (EH112) by Monday 10/13 by 5:00 pm. (Tickets are $15, but KCECH can partially subsidize the cost 😉). If for any reason you're unable to make the payment, let Isabelle know, and we can work it out. Please, RSVP only if you are able to commit, as tickets are non-refundable!

Oct 17 Spanish Language Table with faculty fellows Lidia & Óscar Are you taking Spanish, or took it some time ago, and want to practice your Spanish skills in a very relaxed environment? Are you a native Spanish speaker, maybe feeling a bit lost in translation and needing to reconnect? Do you want to meet other people in the house (and former residents too!) who share your interest in the language and culture? We will be in the private dining room on Fridays from 6:00 to 7:00ish pm. Of course, you are welcome to bring in your dinner from the adjacent dining hall and to eat with us! 😉 Too busy on a Friday night? Stay for as long as you like! Just fifteen or twenty minutes every week will make your Spanish shine! We're BYOT (bring your own topic) to the Spanish Table. Or simply chat about your day and your experiences at Penn. From beginners to native speakers, everybody is welcome!
