The Dharmic Yuva Program Community is a living-learning space for students who identify with, were raised in, or are thoughtfully exploring Dharmic traditions and identities, including but not limited to Hindu, Jain, Buddhist, and Sikh traditions.
As an Identity & Self community, Dharmic Yuva will:
- Create a home for students to reflect on how Dharmic worldviews, ethics, stories, and practices shape their sense of self, belonging, purpose, and leadership at Penn.
- Offer structured opportunities for students to learn together: Sanskrit basics, readings from Dharmic literature and poetry, and discussion of concepts like dharma, ahimsa, seva, truth, and interdependence.
- Facilitate experiential learning through visits to local temples, gurdwaras, Jain and Buddhist centers, celebrations such as Vaisakhi and Diwali, museums, and performances.
