What will you experience
at Du Bois?
- A small house with a big voice: W.E.B. Du Bois College House lives out its motto by creating a close-knit community where residents are encouraged to lead, speak up, and contribute meaningfully to the life of the House.
- A four-year community rooted in mentorship: Du Bois brings together students across class years, allowing residents to build lasting relationships, learn from one another, and take ownership of the community over time.
- A home for intellectual curiosity: The House honors the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois through programs that center scholarship, research, activism, identity, and thoughtful dialogue. Students can take courses with our House Faculty, such as Black and Latin in the Americas (EDUC 5806) & Elementary Zulu in Residence (0800).
- Learning beyond the classroom: Du Bois offers opportunities for residents to engage in research, cultural exploration, and experiential learning through trips such as research visits to the Schomburg Center in New York, as well as language and cultural immersion experiences connected to Spanish and Zulu in the House.
- A community built on legacy and belonging: From signature programs to faculty engagement and student-led traditions, Du Bois creates space for residents to explore who they are, where they come from, and how they want to impact the world.
