This year, W.E.B. Du Bois College House is celebrating Du Bois Day in a new way.
Each year we honor the founding of our house by learning from the legacy of a Black scholar or activist who changed the world.
This year, in collaboration with DAAP, we are traveling to Maryland to explore the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman.
Join us for a day of learning, reflection, and community.
Sunday, March 22
Schedule
8:00 AM – Depart from campus by coach bus
• Bus includes WiFi and a restroom, so you can relax or get work done on the ride
10:30 AM – Arrive at the Harriet Tubman Museum in Maryland
• Participate in an interactive guided educational experience exploring Tubman’s life and legacy
12:30 PM – Group Lunch
• Enjoy a delicious meal at Portside Seafood Restaurant
• Lunch provided and paid for by Penn
2:00 PM – Depart for Philadelphia
~4:00 PM – Return to campus
Why This Trip Matters
Du Bois Day is about more than celebrating our house. It is about honoring the people whose courage and vision shaped the world we live in today. Harriet Tubman’s activism and leadership helped change the course of American history and continues to inspire generations.
Who Can Attend
Residents of Du Bois College House and friends from other college houses are welcome. The more the merrier.
